EDDA SILVESTRI

Already the director of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, on April 28, 2018, Edda Silvestri received the Silver Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice International Grand Prix. On September 20, 2018, she was appointed honorary director of the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Art, Design, and Media at Xin Hua College of Sun Yat-sen University.
Professional Experience
At the age of 18, Edda Silvestri completed her studies at the Naples Conservatory, graduating with a diploma.
In 1973, she won First Prize at the National Musicians Competition in Rome.
From 1974, she taught at the Conservatories of Campobasso and Frosinone.
Since 1990, she has held a professorship at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
At the Roman conservatory, she served as Vice Director starting in October 2005.
She was Director for the three-year term 2007–2010, and at the end of that period, she was reappointed for an additional term until 2013.
